Dr. Papa is the head of the Department of Surgical Oncology at Sheba Medical Centre, in Tel Aviv. The Sheba Medical Center is a Medical Research Powerhouse providing at least 25 percent of all Israeli medical clinical research and is the main clinical trial venue for human health scientific studies conducted by the Weizmann Institute of Science, and Tel Aviv and Bar-Ilan universities. Sheba Medical Centre is a key partner with industry as an initiator, catalyst and testing center for Israeli medical technology and new drugs and is one of only two medical centers in Israel with US Department of Health federal wide assurance designation – a classification that makes Sheba eligible for U.S. federal research grants involving human clinical trials. Sheba Medical Centre is home to major research centers in regenerative medicine, neuroscience, cancer, heart disease and genetics.

Dr. Papa is a Professor at the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University and on the editorial board of the US Journal of Surgical Oncology.
