Leo Grunwald is a General Partner, Managing Director and co-founder of Lions Peak. Leo qualified as a Chartered Accountant in London, England in 1979. He relocated to Toronto and qualified as a Canadian Chartered Accountant in 1980. In 1983 Leo formed Grunwald & Co. Chartered Accountants. Leo’s accounting practice has been focused on assisting entrepreneurial companies grow.Since 1989, Leo has managed overseas clients’ funds and overseen their portfolio interests in North American corporations, representing his clients’ interests as an active board member of a number of companies. In 1998, Leo formed an international financial advisory practice with offices in Canada, Israel and Europe. In 2001, he raised US$12.5 million for a medical device and diagnostic company located in New York and from 2001 to 2004, was Chief Financial Officer of the company. Leo resigned this position in September 2004 to devote his efforts to his advisory activities. Since 1998, he has been directly involved in raising equity and forming strategic alliances for private and public companies in transactions valued at over $300 million. Leo is an active board member to the Targetech Innovation Centre, Netanya, Israel; Optiway Inc. and the Canada Israel Chamber of Commerce |
